EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANT - ETP
An Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) removes contaminants from industrial wastewater and effluent before it's discharged or reused. Water used by industries, hospitals, and hotels degrades in quality during processing, picking up pollutants such as organic waste, suspended solids, bacteria, oil and grease, chemicals, metals, resins, colorants, and surfactants. To make this wastewater safe for reuse or environmental discharge, contaminant concentrations must be reduced to levels prescribed by pollution control authorities. Treatment combines physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove these contaminants and produce an environmentally safe water stream. Treated effluent is a resource that can be recycled for chillers, cooling towers, gardening, and toilet flushing.
Optima Water Solutions is a leading Effluent Treatment Plant manufacturer in India, offering both customized and standardized ETP systems.
Optima Water Solutions Design and Built Civil-Based Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) is a wastewater treatment system constructed in RCC structures at the site. All the tanks and treatment units — such as Collection Tank, Equalization Tank, Flax Mixter Tank Flocculation Tank Aeration Tank, Clarifier, and Sludge Tank — are built permanently with civil construction. It is a permanent and durable infrastructure designed for long-term operation (20–25 years or more).

Areas like small factories, hospitals, small production units, and laundries are often not covered by centralized wastewater treatment or drainage systems — Optima offers a perfect solution for them. We supply Prefabricated ETP systems that are compact, effective, and economical for decentralized wastewater treatment. Optima Water Solutions is a leading Prefabricated Effluent Treatment Plant manufacturer in India.
This system reduces costs and space, with options for installation in basements or on terraces, along with recycling, complete automation, and connections to municipal lines.
We offer both customized and standardized package-type ETP systems, also known as Mobile Effluent Treatment Plants.

ZERO LIQUID DISCHARGE PLANT
Optima Water Solutions is a leading Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Plant manufacturer in India. The exact configuration of a ZLD system varies by industry, depending on the wastewater's consumption pattern and contaminant profile.
Treatment design depends on the intended use of the recycled water. If the water is for gardening, BOD, COD, and suspended solids removal with filtration is usually sufficient. For high-pressure boiler feed or industrial production reuse, treatment includes pre-treatment and membrane filtration (Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis). The RO reject stream is then concentrated further using mechanical or mist evaporation prior to crystallization. Where organics are present, condensate polishing may be required for final cleanup before reuse.
Zero Liquid Discharge Plant, is an advanced wastewater treatment system designed to ensure that no liquid effluent is discharged outside the plant boundary.
The goal of ZLD is to treat, recycle, and recover 100% of wastewater so that:
Key Features of a ZLD Plant
Typical Process of a ZLD System
Recovered Water Storage Clean distillate is reused in the plant

| Stage | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Primary (Physical/Chemical) | Screening, equalization, and coagulation-flocculation to remove suspended solids and neutralize pH |
| Secondary (Biological) | Biological treatment (MBBR, MBR, or activated sludge) to break down organic load (BOD/COD) |
| Tertiary (Polishing) | Filtration and disinfection to meet final discharge or reuse standards |
| Advanced (where required) | Membrane filtration, activated carbon, or ZLD stages for industries with strict discharge norms or zero-discharge mandates |
Not every industry needs all four stages — a facility with primarily organic wastewater may only need primary and secondary treatment, while a facility handling heavy metals, dyes, or persistent chemicals typically needs the full train through to advanced/ZLD stages. This is determined by your specific effluent characterization, not a fixed industry template.
The Central Pollution Control Board classifies industries as Red, Orange, Green, or White based on pollution potential — and this classification directly determines your ETP requirements, consent conditions, and monitoring obligations. Red category industries (highest pollution potential — chemicals, pharma, textiles, tanneries, and similar) face the strictest ETP and discharge requirements, often including mandatory Online Continuous Effluent Monitoring Systems (OCEMS) reporting directly to the pollution control board. Understanding which category your facility falls under — and designing to that category's actual requirements rather than over- or under-building — is one of the first things we clarify during project scoping.
Optima Water Solutions is an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer with 12+ years of experience and 158+ completed projects across India. We design ETP and ZLD systems around your specific effluent characteristics and discharge/reuse goals — from simple civil-based ETPs to full ZLD systems with MEE and crystallizer stages — and support every installation with commissioning, operator training, and AMC contracts.

An Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) is a wastewater treatment facility used in industries to treat liquid effluents before discharge or reuse. It employs physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove pollutants like organic matter, heavy metals, suspended solids, oil, grease, and colorants to meet CPCB/DPCC discharge standards.
Industries that generate industrial effluents are mandated by DPCC and CPCB to install ETPs. This includes textile and dyeing units, pharmaceutical companies, food processing plants, hotels and hospitals, electroplating units, tanneries, chemical manufacturers, and paper mills.
An ETP is designed for industrial wastewater containing chemicals, heavy metals, and complex pollutants. An STP is designed for domestic sewage from homes, societies, and commercial buildings. ETPs typically require more complex treatment stages including chemical dosing, advanced oxidation, and membrane filtration.
Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) is an advanced ETP system where 100% of wastewater is treated and recycled — no liquid effluent is discharged outside the plant boundary. ZLD is required by law in highly polluted industrial sectors in critically polluted clusters as per NGT and MoEFCC directives.
Prefabricated ETPs can be installed in 2–4 weeks. Civil-based ETPs typically take 3–6 months. ZLD systems with evaporators and crystallizers may take 6–12 months. Optima Water provides complete project management from concept to commissioning.
Yes. ETP treated water can be reused for cooling towers, gardening, toilet flushing, car washing, and in some cases back in the process itself. ZLD systems achieve near-100% water recovery.
